Essentials of the Concealed Carry Snub is a complete foundations class for new shooters with little or no defensive snub experience. This program covers everything the new shooter need to know and do to create a foundation for effective snub revolver based self-defense. Class topics include:

  • Contact, grasp and grip mechanics
  • One and two hand grip essentials
  • Draw stroke basics
  • Sights, sight picture and sight alignment
  • Trigger contact positions and trigger stroke
  • Foundation marksmanship
  • Wall drills, one-hole drills and follow through
  • New shooter moving target drills
  • Fire-and-movement foundation skills
  • Introduction to reduced light and accurate shooting
  • Post range cleaning tips and tools
  • Post range maintenance
  • Weapon handling and child safety
  • Firearm storage

Equipment List:

  • Snub revolver                        (3" or under - any .38 or .357 caliber - Some are available for loan - Please call ahead)
  • A quality holster                     (Does not close up on draw - Some are available for loan - Please call ahead)
  • A quality belt
  • Ear and eye protection
  • A shooting cap with a baseball-style bill
  • 125 rounds of ammunition   (Better ammo, better training)
  • 3 ring notebook                     (No paper needed)
  • Pen or pencil
  • Lunch and snacks                (All lunches are working lunches)
  • Bottled water                        (Every shooter must have water for hydrating on the range)

*The class is ideal for new or basic level shooter. No prior snub handling experience is required. Fundamental safety skills and basic revolver operation will be covered. Standard shooting safety equipment is required. Special note to Massachusetts residents – This course will fulfill the prerequisite for a License To Carry / Basic Firearms Safety (LTC/BFS) training program. A Massachusetts approved LTC/BFS certificate will be issued to each Massachusetts resident who completes this program.
